Bob Harris has been drawing and painting since childhood, although some periods have been more productive than others due to work commitments. He paints in all media but enjoys oil and watercolour the most combining a love for scenery, buildings, wildlife and nature.

James Horsler has been a freelance artist since 1990 after working as a CG Artist in the computer games industry. He works in all the main media and has been a popular art tutor since being asked by Tendring Community College to run watercolour courses in 1996.

Malcolm Jarvis is sympathetic to artists of all abilities. He graduated from Camborne School of Art and holds design qualifications from St Martins School of Art. He is a landscape painter with a particular interest in the effect of light on landscape. His preferred medium is soft pastel. He also works in drawing, gouache and watercolour.

Kate Macleod is a Scottish artist living in Essex. She has been an artist most of her life and enjoys teaching others. Kate frequently uses oils, pastel and watercolour as her preferred media. She spends most of the year tutoring at adult colleges and is competent in a good many disciplines. In addition to her skills as an artist she makes beaded jewellery for special occasions.

Peter Partington started sketching at an early age, pursuing this interest more seriously at Bournemouth College of Art. He writes magazine articles and illustrates books and cards. The International Museum of Wildlife has several of his works in its collection and he has been elected to the Society of Wildlife Artists.

Jane Rhodes works in various media and often a combination of several and enjoys experimenting with colour and textures. Pastel is her preferred medium as she particularly likes its immediacy and expressive quality but the versatility and vibrancy of acrylics runs a close second. The effect of light and colour on landscape has been a recurring theme in her work but she is often lured into more "abstracted" interpretations.

Mo Teeuw is a professional artist and experienced tutor with a large following. Her paintings are about light so she likes to work out of doors, taking paintings and sketches back to the studio for that final polish. Ken Woodruff has been painting regulary in watercolour since 1980. In 1994 he was commissioned by Letchworth Garden City Corporation to produce a painting of Willian that was presented to the Mayor of Kristiansand in Norway. Ken believes that people should be encouraged to paint what they want and that subjects should not be rigidly dictated by the tutor.
